Daniel Fast for Lent
We are fast approaching what we Christians call the “Lenten Season”. Lent is a 40 day season of fasting and praying that last from Ash Wednesday to Easter and excludes Sundays. During this time, Christians attempt to replicate Jesus’ sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. My church does the Daniel Fast which is eating a vegan diet and daily devotionals with prayer. If followed carefully, at the end of the fast you will find that your blood pressure has improved, if you are diabetic (type II), your blood sugar numbers will improve, and most will also lose a few pounds as well. But more importantly you will have a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
For the past few years, my husband and I have done the Daniel Fast and have experienced such growth in the five key areas of our lives; Mind, Body, Spirit, Finances and Relationships. Throughout the year we continue to have “meatless” days to consecrate ourselves in prayer before God.
